WIP Wednesday #16

Today is going to be a Work In Progress Wednesday.   I will be linking up with Freshly Pieced.

WIP Wednesday at Freshly Pieced

Completed Projects:

Nothing nota ok I did finish one but its not posted yet.  But I have been working here is a sneak peak.

I am making 2 quilts that will be like Fire In The Sky (the bright orange quilt for those with slow memory's) But this time one is a Batik in Blue/Yellow the other is what my wife calls 80's fabric (It most likely is I got this material as left overs of a quilter of the past that passed away and her daughter gave the material to me after hearing that I was trying to quilt,  There was tags on some materials from the 70's and 80's) I on the other hand love the material and think it is wonderful.

Ready To Quilt:
I am getting behind on quilting my tops I have 5-6 I think now in the box.  My wife basted one for my sister that has been sitting their over a month though and I should start to quilt it after work Wednesday night.

Ongoing Projects:
I am now interested in making quilts for others if you know any one looking to have a quilt made send them my way.  I also have a few quilts listed on my etsy shop.  http://www.etsy.com/shop/RichardQuilts  I am also looking for some new swaps to join if any one has some good ideas or suggestions.  I am already doing 2 - 12 1/2 inch swaps but looking for more things to do.

Planned Quilts:
I sat down this week with my wife and we made a list of a few things we have in the works and a few things I would like to do and the list has over 50 items on it.  So no lack of ideas here.

Totals:
Finished: 10 May, 8 April, 10 March, 10 February, 7 January
45 Total for Year wow only 10 more quilts tell I meet my 55 projects and I have to set the bar higher.

On last thing for the day my sister in law started a blog and she is having a giveaway on it.  She sells and makes cute bows for kids.  http://angelbabyboutique.blogspot.com

I'm so impressed with how productive you are! And you have some seriously fabulous projects going on as well. PS- it's not exactly a swap, but you are more than welcome to join the purple charm quilt tree if you'd like. I'm looking for a couple more people.

A few years ago, we did a service project at my church where we made quite a few lap quilts. The fabric had been given to us from an old lady who had had these buckets of fabric for who knows how long! Seriously vintage stuff...and I LOVED it! I should dig out the pictures of the tops I sewed together and blog about it. They turned out great, and went to a good cause. All fabric can be loved and keep someone warm who needs it, regardless of when it was made :)

Great works in progress, you two! Good to know you won't run out of projects any time soon! I love the hair clips your SIL made for me. For a little girl. I've been thinking I might have to get some for me. =)

My grandson is 3, has leukemia, and would love a quilt. I've made him a cot quilt, which he uses, but 3 year olds are getting big... (He has a little brother who is 2). But I'm sure as they live in South Africa maybe the postal cost may be too much.

Hi Richard (and Tanya). It is so nice to see Tanya's name added to yours and to see you both sharing a project. I wish my hubby was interested in sewing but he doesn't even look at what I make. Your list sounds like mine. It keeps getting longer and longer. Your quilts are really looking great and I think you could sell them easily. I wanted to tell you that, if you have a local quilt shop, you can let them know that you will make quilts for others and they can get business for you. A lady that I sew for told the quilt shop where she lives about me and others have called because of that. It is a great way for me to get business so maybe you could try it. You and Tanya have a wonderful day.
